Good morning, Good morning!

I’m starting my day by “falling into books.” Right now, I am inspired by all-things-Kim-Diehl and Lori Holt. They are amazing quilters, designers, and authors. Their fabrics, color choices, layouts, techniques, and quilting tools amaze and inspire me.

Today is another studio day, so this post is another short-but-sweet sneak peek. Be sure to check out recent posts to see what I’m sewing with our new collection, Start with Tea .

All three patterns are now available in the shop.

I’ll leave with you a little bit of wisdom from Kim’s book, Simple Appliqué:

“I always felt that one of the most appealing aspects about the art of quilt making, and appliqué specifically, is that it’s not a “one-size-fits-all” craft. Because quilts are made by a variety of people for a wide range of uses, there are countless ways to accomplish the individual steps from start to finish.”

In production…

I’m working on tutorials that showcase different appliqué techniques. From raw edge fusible methods to turned edges with freezer paper, there are so many tools you can use to get amazing results, even as a beginner.

Photo Hints

Can you guess what tools I used to create the raw edge teapot and apple? How about the turned-edge apples and heart? Did you spot Kim Diehl’s freezer paper peeking out under the mitten?

If you sign up for our mailing list, you’ll be the first to see the appliqué tutorials when they go live on the blog. We’ll also send you free patterns for mug rugs.
